Associate Consultant (Intern) – Data Analytics | StoneTurn

This role matters as it directly contributes to delivering data analytics solutions across various consulting engagements, empowering clients with key data-driven insights and enhancing the capabilities of other practice areas through a full spectrum of data science and analytics services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate in data-collection conversations with attorney clients to understand their needs.
• Prepare strategic analysis plans in collaboration with StoneTurn colleagues.
• Collect, import, and validate client datasets for analytical purposes.
• Perform analytic data-mining activities to interpret financial patterns, identify unusual activity, and analyze dynamic financial damages theories.
• Communicate data requirements and intricacies effectively with both technical and non-technical professionals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in progress within computer science, or a business field with proven proficiency in computer science.
• Experience: Relational database experience including SQL proficiency, ability to import data from various sources, and basic knowledge of database maintenance.
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, SharePoint), including creating complex formulas, chart creation, and using pivot functionality. Strong time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with programming languages such as Python, .NET, or VBA; experience with Oracle; fundamental knowledge of accounting, finance, and economics; knowledge in out-of-box accounting solutions (QuickBooks, SAGE); familiarity with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview); or familiarity with statistical software (R, Stata, SAS).
