The Tone:

This role is critical as the senior operational executive for MUSC Health Orangeburg, responsible for ensuring exceptional operational performance, financial health, and patient experience across all clinical environments while integrating academic and clinical priorities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive: Operational excellence, efficiency, financial and capital performance, quality and safety outcomes, and patient experience across inpatient, ambulatory, procedural, and surgical environments.
• Partner: Closely with physician leaders, nursing leadership, and administrative executives to integrate clinical, academic, and operational priorities.
• Lead: Performance management, capital stewardship, culture building, and leadership development initiatives.
• Engage: Stakeholders to support tertiary and quaternary care growth within the academic health system.
• Oversee: Facilities and facility-based operational initiatives for MUSC Health Orangeburg.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s degree in healthcare administration, hospital administration, business administration, public health, or a related field; Executive-level leadership.
• Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience, with at least five (5) years specifically in healthcare operations, in a complex academic medical center environment.
• Skills: Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L oversight; Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a highly matrixed organization; Strong executive presence with the ability to influence without direct authority; Exceptional communication, change leadership, and operational execution skills.
• Bonus: Senior leadership experience in children’s hospitals and/or women’s services operations; Experience overseeing capital projects and facility-based operational initiatives in an academic medical center; Demonstrated success driving operational efficiency, throughput improvement, and financial performance.
