Associate Banker | EBRD

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at EBRD, located in Istanbul, Türkiye, offered on a regular contract. EBRD is a pioneering and diverse international organization that invests in various regions to make a real difference to people’s lives and help shape their future. This role is part of the Corporate team in Türkiye, with a primary focus on the Manufacturing and Services sector, and it is critical for contributing to all phases of investment project cycles, from initial origination and structuring to execution and effective post-signing implementation. The Associate Banker ensures the quality and compliance of investment projects that drive economic development in the region.

• Team: Corporate team in Türkiye, focusing on Manufacturing and Services sector; works as part of a project team.
• Mission: To contribute to all phases of the project cycle for investment projects in Manufacturing and Services, from origination to execution and implementation.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, spreadsheet packages, financial analysis and modelling modules.

What You’ll Actually Do
Project Origination & Structuring: Contribute to all phases of project structuring and execution for investment projects in the Manufacturing and Services sector, including project origination.
Due Diligence & Risk Assessment: Undertake comprehensive due diligence, encompassing financial, market, integrity, and EBRD policy compliance, while analyzing and evaluating potential risks related to proposed projects.
Financial Modelling & Analysis: Perform in-depth research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data, including preparing and updating financial models and projections for project evaluation.
Technical Cooperation Management: Assist with the design and processing of technical co-operation assistance, preparing terms of reference and internal approval documentation to support related investment projects or policy dialogue initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate operational-level communication with internal units of the Bank, clients, and other stakeholders, preparing draft correspondence, presentations, and ensuring timely follow-up on internal communications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of expertise.
• Experience: Relevant financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards.
• Skills:
1. Quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models.
2. Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts, understanding local and international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis.
3. Good written and oral communication skills in English and Turkish.
• Bonus: Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA desirable. Exposure to industry/country experience.
