Assistant Instructor | Black Rocket

The Tone:
This is a seasonal contract role at Black Rocket, located within driving distance of partner regions in over 30 states. Black Rocket offers unique educational programs to children and young adults, blending creativity with technology. Their courses emphasize self-empowerment, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving through hands-on learning. This role is crucial for engaging students aged 6-14, helping them discover and develop their unique talents in technology and digital arts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage: Supervise and interact with students aged 6-14 in an in-room setting.
• Teach: Help lead instructors deliver exciting classes in technology and creative subjects.
• Cultivate: Maintain a fun, educational, and inspiring environment for all students.
• Guide: Assist students with hands-on learning activities in coding, game creation, digital arts, and robotics.
• Support: Provide technical troubleshooting assistance for student issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum age of 18 years; strong desire to work with children using technology and creativity.
• Experience: Authorized to work in the United States; availability for 4-10 weeks during summer (Monday-Friday) with online training in May.
• Skills: Proficiency in various technologies including 3D modeling, coding (Python, Javascript, Lua), game creation/design (Roblox, Minecraft), animation, robotics, video editing, and digital arts; ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Bonus: Previous experience with children in educational, formal, or informal settings; current college enrollment in education, computer science, digital arts, or IT fields.
