The Tone:
This is a seasonal contract role at Black Rocket, with opportunities across partner regions in over 30 states. Black Rocket provides unique educational programs to children and young adults, focusing on the intersection of creativity and technology. This role is crucial for inspiring kids, enhancing student learning, and igniting their distinct talents by facilitating hands-on learning experiences in tech and digital arts.

• Mission: Facilitate engaging and educational technology programs for children aged 6-14 as an Assistant Instructor.
• Tech Stack: Python, Javascript, Lua, Roblox, App Design, Digital Arts, Video Editing, Robotics, Drones, Minecraft, 3D modeling, game creation, animation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facilitate Learning: Work directly with children aged 6-14 in technology-focused summer programs.
• Provide Support: Guide students through hands-on activities in areas like coding, game design, and digital arts.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Assist students with technical and creative challenges during course activities.
• Create Engagement: Contribute to a fun and supportive learning environment for all participants.
• Inspire Creativity: Encourage self-empowerment and problem-solving through creative technology projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older. No formal experience is required to apply, with paid training provided prior to summer.
• Experience: Must be available to work a minimum of 4 weeks, Monday through Friday, during the summer. Experience with children in an educational or informal setting is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong technology skills in areas such as 3D modeling, coding, game creation, animation, robotics, video editing, or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential.
• Bonus: College students studying education, computer science, digital arts, or information technology are strongly encouraged to apply. Must love working with kids and have reliable transportation within a partner region.
