Assistant Instructor | Black Rocket

The TL;DR
• Role: Contract
• Type: Seasonal (4-10 weeks, Monday-Friday)
• Location: Within driving distance of one of our partner regions in over 30 states
• Pay: $13–$15 hourly
• Mission: Guide children aged 6-14 through hands-on tech education and creative problem-solving programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support students: Work directly with children aged 6-14 in an in-room setting during summer programs.
• Facilitate learning: Guide students through engaging activities centered on tech education, coding, and digital arts.
• Provide assistance: Offer hands-on support in areas such as video games, app design, robotics, and other STEM activities.
• Resolve issues: Utilize troubleshooting skills to assist students with technical challenges and project completion.
• Engage participants: Foster a fun and positive learning environment focused on technology and creativity.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience: Available to work a minimum of 4 weeks, Monday through Friday, during the summer, with online training starting in May. Must love working with kids.
• Skills: Strong technology skills including 3D modeling, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, video editing, digital arts, competitive gaming, or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox. Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Bonus: College students studying education, computer science, digital arts, information technology, or similar fields are encouraged to apply. Experience with children in a formal or informal setting (e.g., babysitting, volunteering, coaching, tutoring) is a plus.
