The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, located in Washington, NC. ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is a 142-bed full-service hospital providing comprehensive care including emergency services, cancer treatment at the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, general medical and surgical services, operative services, a women’s birthing center, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinics. As an Area Technician, you play a vital role in maintaining a clean, disinfected, and aesthetically pleasing hospital environment. Your meticulous work ensures high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, directly contributing to patient safety, comfort, and the overall well-being of everyone within the facility.

• Mission: Ensure the daily cleanliness, disinfection, and aesthetic appeal of hospital rooms and public areas according to established standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Maintenance: Perform routine daily cleaning and disinfecting of a variety of spaces including patient rooms, public waiting areas, offices, and specific furnishings throughout assigned work areas within the hospital.
• Waste and Linen Management: Efficiently and safely execute the removal and proper disposal of soiled waste and linen, strictly adhering to all established facility and infection control protocols.
• Floor Care Operations: Systematically conduct comprehensive floor care activities, encompassing the detailed cleaning, sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing of hard surface floors, in addition to thorough carpet care procedures.
• Detail Cleaning: Undertake general detail cleaning tasks, focusing on high-touch surfaces and ensuring all areas are meticulously maintained to consistently present a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional possessing a foundational understanding of essential cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection practices, ideally gained within a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
• Experience: Demonstrated capability to effectively perform assigned cleaning and disinfection duties, consistently following established hospital policies and procedures for maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Skills: Competency in applying various manual and automated cleaning techniques, safe utilization of a range of cleaning agents and equipment, and strict adherence to infection control and safety guidelines.
• Bonus: A GED or High School Diploma (or higher educational achievement) is preferred for this position, demonstrating foundational academic preparedness.
