Job Description

This role is for an entry-level position within Cushing Terrell’s Architecture & Engineering (A&E) teams, designed to design places that make a difference.

Core Purpose: To create built environments that contribute to thriving communities and push the boundaries of cutting-edge design, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities (As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will):
• Prepare clear, concise, readable drawings and BIM models, including model setup, input, and red-line correction changes, based on basic design criteria furnished by and under the supervision of an experienced architect or engineer.
• Conduct basic materials research and assist with specification preparation and writing.
• Assist with cost-estimating take-offs and data input.
• Assist with or provide on-site construction observation for simple projects.
• Potentially lead small projects under the direct supervision of a supervisor.
• Attend weekly classes and watch training videos for continuous learning.
• Work alongside and learn from professionals in various parallel disciplines.
• Collaborate with project teams spanning multiple office locations across the nation.
• Work with a diverse range of local and national clients.
• Potentially visit construction sites with project leaders (contingent on project phase and time of year).

Required Qualifications and Abilities:
Education: Completion of 3+ years of an A&E related undergraduate program.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCADD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office suite, and Outlook.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other team members.
Design Philosophy: A passion for client-focused design.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for balancing graceful oral and written communication between internal Cushing Terrell teams and clients.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
• The majority of time will be spent sitting in an office environment with limited physical requirements.
• May occasionally require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.
• On occasion, individuals will be required to visit client sites to perform site verifications and field surveys.

Compensation:
Expected Range: $20 – $25 per hour.
• The actual salary offered will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: years of experience, licensure status, location (salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets), level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
