Applied Science Intern – Information and Knowledge Management in Machine Learning
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on the cutting edge of AI innovation at Amazon. As an intern, you will play a key role in developing systems and frameworks that power Amazon’s machine learning capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Develop intuitive tools and workflows to empower machine learning teams in discovering, reusing, and building upon existing models and datasets, accelerating innovation across the company.
• Leverage natural language processing and information retrieval techniques to unlock insights from vast repositories of unstructured data, fueling the next generation of AI applications.
• Conduct groundbreaking research into emerging best practices and innovations in the field of ML operations, knowledge engineering, and information management.
• Propose novel approaches to enhance Amazon’s machine learning capabilities.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to solve complex business problems.
Qualifications:
• Basic Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a PhD program
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 weeks maximum
• Ability to relocate to the internship location
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
• Experience with one or more of the following:
• Knowledge Graphs and Extraction
• Neural Networks/GNNs
• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Time Series
• Machine Learning
• Natural Language Processing
• Deep Learning
• Large Language Models
• Graph Modeling
• Programming/Scripting Languages
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications
• Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as MxNet and TensorFlow

Compensation:
The base pay for this position ranges from $65.38/hr in the lowest geographic market up to $106.83/hr in the highest geographic market. Compensation may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon also offers equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits.
