About the Job

The job is for an Applications Engineering Technologists Intern at Altec. This is an immediate opening for a one-semester commitment, with positions located at the Altec Midwest Facility in St. Joseph, MO.

Key Qualifications for the Intern Position:
• Must be pursuing a 4-year degree in Engineering Technology (required).
Entering 3rd or 4th year of their degree program (preferred).
• Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
• Prior interaction with the Altec team at a recruitment event (highly preferred).
• Proficiency in Solidworks 3D modeling software (preferred).

Potential Responsibilities for the Intern:
The intern will work within one of several areas on the team and gain practical experience with engineering guidance. Responsibilities may include:
Creating 3D models, weight studies, and drawings for customer meetings.
Generating electrical and hydraulic schematics and bills of materials.
• Working on new or revised detailed parts designs and assemblies and preparing them for production release.
Producing manual pages and detailed assembly documentation for production.
• Developing time management skills by managing task schedules to meet production start dates and customer design requirements.
Communicating and interacting across different departments within Altec to fully define customer requirements and design customized solutions.
