Job Description:

Waystar is seeking a dynamic and energetic intern to join their application engineering teams in Louisville, KY. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about Waystar and the healthcare revenue cycle industry, enhance professional development skills, and gain first-hand knowledge of a niche within the healthcare industry.

As an intern, you will assist the application engineering teams in driving Waystar’s software and technology efforts by gathering requirements, attending sprint ceremonies, and developing software and automated tests. The intern will work closely with the application engineering manager and lead engineer to help the team achieve its goals.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test new features and enhancements on Waystar’s platform.
• Work with peers, Team Leads, Manager, Directors, and the VP of Engineering, along with the wider business, to build web-scale products.
• Gain experience with C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, Containers, Automated testing, and Jira, Confluence, and Git.

Requirements:

• 0 – 3 years’ experience.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts.
• Ability to code in one or more general-purpose programming languages; C# and .NET programming languages are preferred.
• Experience with SQL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome change.
• Highly self-motivated.
• Ability to work both in team and solo environments.
