Job Description: UX Applications Development Intern
This internship at Oracle Design is for current undergraduate junior students and graduating seniors interested in User Experience (UX) Design, starting Summer 2025. The team is composed of over 900 multi-disciplinary creatives worldwide, focused on creating accessible and inclusive design.
Responsibilities:
• Creating, evaluating, and modifying prototypes for enterprise application software.
• Developing user-friendly web interfaces for SaaS services.
• Applying software design and usability processes to improve applications.
• Managing the UI lifecycle for features, from initial ideas to wireframing, prototyping, testing, and validation.
• Developing user profiles, focusing on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, and task analysis.
• Collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineering teams to implement UI features and iterate on requirements.
• Providing usability evaluation and support to product development teams, analyzing applications across various interaction methods (tactile, visual, web, multimedia, voice).
• Assisting in developing design concepts and implementation, contributing to user design considerations.
• Creating specifications outlining user needs and internal product structures.
• Partnering with designers to create innovative, seamless, and emotionally resonant user experiences.
• Working with engineers to translate designs into reality.
Qualifications:
Objective Minimum Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate junior-year student graduating in Summer or Fall 2026 with an interest in UX Design (extensive experience not required).
• Design portfolio required.
• Junior or rising senior at a US-accredited university.
• Full-time availability (40 hours/week) from May to August 2025 or June to September 2025.
• No more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships, research/teaching assistant roles, and military experience).
• Ability to work from Redwood City, CA or Seattle, WA offices.
• Ability to obtain US work authorization in 2025.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Expected graduation in May 2026 or later.
• Passion for creating user experiences for diverse communities.
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• Willingness to learn and use data to refine assumptions.
• Strong empathy and understanding of user needs.
• Coursework in computer science, design technology, computer engineering, information technology, web development, software development, or related fields.
• Familiarity with Javascript, React, Preact, NodeJS, Java, HTML, CSS.
• Some front-end coding experience.
• Awareness of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDL).
