Job Description: Analytics Intern

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring data enthusiast to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of analytics. As an Analytics Intern in Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory, you’ll work alongside leading professionals, building your skills in a variety of analytical techniques while contributing to real-world solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing Analytics Solutions:
• Design, build, and test quantitative and AI/ML-based models across a range of business areas (ESG, digital assets, blockchain, fraud prediction, etc.)
• Define and calculate key operations and data risk indicator metrics to monitor agency business health and resilience.
• Perform data-driven tests and reconciliations for regulatory and financial reporting compliance.
• Deliver actionable insights using data visualization and intelligent automation for operational efficiency.
Assessing Client Data & Analytics Capability:
• Help agencies understand their data needs and develop data sourcing and architecture strategies to fulfill them.
• Assess clients’ current data infrastructure and use of digital technologies (analytics) and provide strategic advice on scaling and improving impact.
• Mitigate data risks while optimizing design, architecture, and governance.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in scripting languages (SQL, Python, HTML, VBA, SAS, R) and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interaction.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of the data lifecycle and solutions development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in data set management, including extraction, transformation, and descriptive analytics.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to quickly research and collect data from various sources.
• Synthesize data and convey information effectively.
• Collaborative and communicative with team members and clients.
• Ability to learn and implement new analytics concepts and data management frameworks.
• Self-driven with a desire for personal and professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong academic record (GPA of 3.2 or higher).
• Relevant work experience in professional environments (internships, summer positions).
• Familiarity with a variety of analytics tools and programming languages.
• Experience in specializations like predictive analytics, machine learning, big data tools, reporting, app development, or cloud capabilities.
• Plans to pursue professional certifications to enhance impact delivery.
