Job Description: Analytics Analyst 1 & 2
Numerica Credit Union is hiring for an Analytics Analyst position at either level 1 or 2, depending on the candidate’s experience. Both roles are within the Organizational Data Management (ODM) department and report to the Vice President of ODM. The positions are non-exempt.
Analytics Analyst 1 (Grade 11):
• Salary: $31.65 to $47.47 per hour
• Summary: This entry-level role supports data-driven decision-making by collecting, integrating, validating, and analyzing data from various sources. It involves collaborating with other analysts and business units to uncover insights aligning with strategic priorities. The role provides foundational exposure to analytics tools and methodologies.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses.
• Assist senior analysts in data preparation and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with business partners to define requirements and develop analytics solutions.
• Perform descriptive and diagnostic analytics to identify patterns and opportunities.
• Utilize SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and Tableau or similar BI tools for visualization.
• Follow established analytics standards and documentation practices.
• Assist in correlating quantitative and qualitative data.
• Support A/B testing and campaign performance tracking.
• Participate in data quality assurance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analytics processes.
• Maintain knowledge and adhere to BSA regulations and compliance standards.
• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business, Economics) and 1-2 years of relevant experience (internship experience counts). Foundational experience with SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with statistical methods is a plus.
• Skills and Abilities: Strong communication (written and verbal), ability to present to senior leadership, collaboration skills, and professionalism are essential.
Analytics Analyst 2 (Grade 12):
• Salary: $36.04 to $54.07 per hour
• Summary: This mid-level role involves hands-on data analysis to drive smarter decisions. It requires leading more complex analyses, partnering with stakeholders to define questions, and providing actionable data insights. Strong data integration knowledge is crucial. This role also involves mentoring junior analysts and acting as a subject matter expert in one or more business areas.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead projects of moderate scope, defining objectives, gathering requirements, and documenting metrics.
• Validate and reconcile data used in reporting and analysis.
• Translate business questions into data requirements and work with data engineers.
• Write and run SQL queries of varying complexity.
• Assist senior analysts with statistical methods.
• Develop visualizations and dashboards (Tableau) and communicate findings.
• Mentor junior analysts and serve as a subject matter expert.
• Collaborate across functional areas to align analysis with strategic goals.
• Follow and contribute to analytics development standards and processes.
• Ensure compliance with BSA/AML and other regulations.
• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience with a proven track record of impactful analysis. Experience with data integration and collaborating with data engineers is required. Proficiency in SQL and Tableau is essential. Experience with statistical methods, Python or R, and digital analytics tools is preferred.
• Skills and Abilities: Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation skills, ability to translate complex analysis for various audiences, collaboration skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are key. Familiarity with research tools and credit union terminology is preferred.
