Analyst – Securitized Products Syndicate | Scotiabank

The Tone:
This is an Analyst role at Scotiabank, located in New York, NY. Scotiabank’s Global Banking and Markets (GBM) is a leading Canadian Capital Markets and Investment Banking business with a growing platform in the US and Latin America, operating globally for over 100 years. GBM provides a full range of investment banking, credit, and risk management products and services to clients. This role contributes to the overall success of the Global Securitization team in the United States, ensuring individual goals and initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

• Mission: This person solves problems by supporting the execution of securitized products new issue transactions and providing comprehensive market and investor analytics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution: Support the execution of securitized products new issue transactions across ABS, CMBS, and RMBS.
• Syndicate Support: Assist in the deal marketing, bookbuilding, pricing, and allocation processes for new issues.
• Market Analysis: Monitor primary and secondary market conditions across securitized asset classes, analyzing spread movements, issuance trends, and investor demand.
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models and analytics to support transactions and detailed market analysis.
• Client & Investor Support: Prepare client- and investor-ready presentation materials, conduct due diligence, and respond to inquiries.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Degree in Business or a related field, demonstrating sound knowledge of securitization fundamentals.
• Experience: Banking experience in a Structured Finance or related environment is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent written and oral communication skills, a high level of commitment, and a strong sense of teamwork.
• Bonus: An MBA/CPA/CFA or other industry designation is helpful, Series 63 & 79 preferred, and experience in ABS preferred.
