What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Management: Collect, clean, and validate logistics and transportation data, encompassing details such as shipments, freight rates, carrier performance, inventory levels, and lead times, ensuring data accuracy for further analysis.
• Model Development: Develop and maintain Excel-based analytical models and dashboards to facilitate comprehensive cost analysis, route and mode evaluations, and strategic scenario planning, translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Network Optimization Support: Actively support network optimization initiatives, including Service Level Agreement (SLA) management, freight consolidation efforts, and capacity planning, by providing essential data inputs and performing basic modeling.
• Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough root-cause analyses of identified service issues and effectively present the findings and actionable recommendations to relevant stakeholders and operations teams.
• Reporting & Monitoring: Prepare concise slide decks, detailed reports, and clear visualizations to effectively communicate insights to managers and and operations teams, while continuously monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) like freight spend, error rates, and cost per shipment to identify significant trends or anomalies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or Statistics. This is an entry-level role, ideal for individuals eager to apply analytical skills.
• Experience: Requires 0–3 years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain, business analytics, or consulting, with applicable internships potentially counting toward experience. This role seeks individuals ready to grow within a dynamic global network.
• Skills: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential, including demonstrated familiarity with pivot tables and basic data modeling capabilities to support various analytical tasks.
• Bonus: Beneficial qualifications include exposure to import or domestic shipping operations, some experience with project management tools or methodologies, professional logistics certifications (e.g., CSCP, CLTD) or progress towards, a basic understanding of ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, and awareness of logistics-specific software such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
