Renewable Energy Analyst | Advantage Capital
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Advantage Capital, with location preference for New York City, but also open to St. Louis or New Orleans offices. This Renewable Energy Analyst position is crucial for achieving this mission by assisting with the financial analysis and forecasting of potential equity investments in various energy asset classes and supply chains, directly contributing to the development of clean, renewable energy and economic growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Evaluation: Evaluate potential equity investments across various energy asset classes and their supply chains, ensuring alignment with the firm’s dual objectives of measurable social impact and competitive financial return.
• Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive on-site due diligence for prospective investments, which includes meeting with management teams and requires monthly travel across the United States.
• Transaction Support: Provide critical support throughout the due diligence, underwriting, and closing phases for a range of complex transactions, including partnership flips, lease pass-throughs, hybrid transfer flips, and other tax-advantaged financial instruments.
• Financial Modeling & Presentation: Develop robust financial models and actively contribute to the crafting and pitching of detailed investment presentations for review and approval by internal committees.
• Portfolio Monitoring: Engage in ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies and execute value-added activities, such as conducting quarterly reviews and offering funding support to ensure sustained growth and performance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant work experience, including demonstrated financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
• Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated intellectual curiosity and flexibility.
