Analyst, Capital Markets & Finance | Lendistry

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Lendistry, located in Los Angeles, CA. Lendistry is the nation’s largest minority-led, tech-savvy lender for small businesses and commercial real estate, certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity (CDE). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the analysis and execution of investment strategies, directly supporting the senior finance team in building, managing, and owning a capital markets strategy that aligns with Lendistry’s mission and product lines. The position is highly visible and critical for driving strategy and impacting the company’s bottom line.

• Mission: Build, manage, and own a capital markets strategy that fits with Lendistry’s mission and product lines.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, V-lookup, H-lookup, Index/Match, nested IF statements, advanced formulas), other financial modeling software.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Capital Markets Strategy: Assist Senior Executives with Lendistry’s capital markets strategy, encompassing warehouse lending, equity securities, corporate finance, and government program funding.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Credit teams to ensure successful execution of capital market strategies.
• Provider Relationship Management: Support the senior finance team in managing daily operating relationships with capital markets providers, including warehouse lines and permanent funding providers.
• Credit and Securitization: Assist the Senior Finance Team with managing credit ratings and relationships with credit agencies, and develop and implement a securitization process for all product lines.
• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Perform detailed financial analysis and due diligence on potential credit instruments, and develop and maintain financial models to assess risks, returns, and corporate finance needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; foundational understanding of credit analysis or investment banking.
• Experience: 1 year minimum of relevant experience in credit investing, investment banking, management consulting, or transaction advisory from a national accounting firm. Candidate must be located in Los Angeles, CA.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables, V-lookup, H-lookup, Index/Match, nested IF statements, and advanced formulas); experience with multi-scenario financial modeling, incorporating dynamic assumptions, and sensitivity analysis; strong time management abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with lending business and/or specialty finance, including pricing bonds, understanding yield curves, and analyzing credit spreads.
