Job Description: ALIS Administrator
This is an expat position located at Ghedi Air Base in Italy, supporting the Italian Air Force (ItAF) and their Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) operations. As an ALIS Administrator, you will be a crucial part of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), a critical system supporting daily flight schedules and overall JSF operations.
Responsibilities:
• Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues related to the ALIS product suite.
• Customer Liaison: Communicate effectively with the ItAF customer, addressing their needs and concerns.
• System Maintenance: Monitor, administer, and support ALIS hardware and software, ensuring system functionality.
• Disaster Recovery: Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for ALIS systems, databases, and network equipment.
• Training: Train ItAF personnel on ALIS operations, processes, and procedures.
• Security: Monitor system security configuration, implement security patches, and address security incidents.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues with ALIS, coordinating with engineers and Tier 2 support as needed.
• Inventory Management: Maintain a detailed inventory of hardware components associated with ALIS.
• Leadership: Mentor junior security administrators on system security operations and best practices.
Qualifications:
• Security Clearance: Must have a Secret security clearance or higher with investigation within the last 6 years.
• Certification: Ability to obtain and retain DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+, CASP+, or CISSP) within 60 days of hire.
• Security Experience: Proven experience in security patching, security controls, incident response, and vulnerability assessment.
• Operational Support: Willingness to work at deployed locations, support rotating shifts, and work extended hours, including weekends, as mission requirements dictate.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a proactive mindset.
• Education/Experience: A bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree plus 4 years of specialized experience, a major certification plus 4 years of specialized experience, or 8 years of specialized experience.
Desired Skills:
• International Experience: Prior experience working in IT or Engineering roles internationally.
• Troubleshooting: Excellent troubleshooting skills, particularly with applications.
• Security Expertise: Deep understanding of information security concepts and system administration.
• Auditing Tools: Familiarity with auditing tools, such as SPLUNK.
• Account Management: Experience maintaining accounts in Active Directory, Oracle, and CRM systems.
• Virtualization: Knowledge of virtual machine management services like Hyper-V and VMware.
• Linux: Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration expertise.
• Data Management: Experience with importing and exporting large data volumes.
• Military Support: Previous experience working for or supporting the US military or foreign militaries.
• Top Secret Clearance: A US DoD Top Secret clearance is a significant advantage.
• Lockheed Martin Experience: Familiarity with Lockheed Martin products, processes, and the JSF ALIS hardware and software.
• Language Skills: Italian language skills are preferred, but not mandatory.
• Database Management: Experience managing large Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Application Server Familiarity: Knowledge of JBOSS (WildFly) Application Server.
• Special Access Program Clearance: A current LM Aeronautics-hosted Special Access Program clearance is preferred.
