Job Description: Algorithm Technical Manager Intern (2025)
This internship within TikTok’s e-commerce Governance and Experience team focuses on building systems to ensure the safety and trustworthiness of the marketplace for users, sellers, and creators. The intern will work on designing and implementing algorithms to detect and mitigate various risks, such as fraud.
Responsibilities:
• Work with a team to design and implement algorithms for risk and fraud detection in content, products, sellers, and creators.
• Collaborate with strategy, product, policy, and operations teams to define products and drive engineering initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Final-year student or recent graduate with a background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
• Understanding or keen interest in machine learning, NLP, or computer vision.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, Go, or Java.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Interest or experience in anti-fraud, anti-spam, platform integrity, or similar fields.
• Strong sense of responsibility, exceptional communication, and teamwork skills.
Internship Details:
The internship runs for 12-24 weeks, starting in May/June 2025 or August/September 2025. Specific start dates are listed in the original job posting. Interns will receive hands-on experience, participate in social events and development workshops, and gain valuable real-world experience. Compensation: The hourly rate range is $72-$72.
