Overview:

Language Services Associates (LSA) is actively seeking qualified Akan interpreters in the Manahawkin, NJ area to join its network of Independently Contracted Interpreters. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in facilitating effective language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community. This involves providing interpreting services across various critical settings, including medical, legal, and customer service environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide superior customer service to all clients and parties involved.
• Strictly adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct, with particular emphasis on maintaining robust standards of confidentiality.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including established professional interpretation protocols and industry-specific best practices.
• Successfully complete required training(s) and actively participate in ongoing Quality Assurance monitoring processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Full fluency in both English and Akan is mandatory.
• Demonstrated familiarity with and the proven ability to comply with industry-standard best practices (e.g., professionalism, courtesy, established protocols, and strict confidentiality).
• A strong capability to consistently provide a high level of client service.
• Reliable access to personal or public transportation for assignments.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience is preferred.
• Possession of industry-specific certifications/trainings (e.g., CMI, CCHI) is preferred.
