Job Description:
This position is for an Aircraft Mechanic I within the SOF GLSS program. The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and identify malfunctions in various aircraft systems.
• Repair & Replacement: Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures (wings, fuselage) and functional components (rigging, surface controls, plumbing and hydraulic units).
• Tools & Equipment: Utilize hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
• Technical Documentation: Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine repair/replacement methods.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Unit or Intermediate Level Repairs and/or modifications.
• Minimum of 3 years experience on helicopter gas turbine engines.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting Schematics, Engineering Drawings, Technical Manuals, and Technical Orders.
• Flexibility to work Extended/Multiple Shifts and Travel as required to meet Customer mission needs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with T55-GA-714 and/ or YT706-GE-700 engine models preferred.
• Documented Military/DOD Service School or Civilian/FAA equivalent training desired.
• Current & Active Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Depot Level Maintenance Repair experience desired.
• Must provide own basic hand tools and toolbox.

This position requires a government security clearance. Applicants must be a US Citizen for consideration.
