Aircraft Engineering Co-op Job Description

This is an internship opportunity for an engineering student seeking practical experience in the field. The Aircraft Engineering Co-op plays a vital role in supporting engineers with aircraft maintenance and reliability tasks. This includes:

Researching technical issues: Identifying and analyzing the root causes of problems.
Drafting Engineering Orders: Creating technical documents outlining solutions and procedures.
Preparing CAD drawings: Utilizing computer-aided design software to create detailed schematics.
Analyzing data: Evaluating performance and identifying trends to improve efficiency.
Contributing to engineering projects: Collaborating with engineers on various projects related to aircraft maintenance and reliability.

The ideal candidate:

• Has a strong aptitude for hands-on projects and technical writing.
• Possesses excellent communication skills and works effectively in a team environment.
• Is an engineering student interested in gaining practical experience.

The co-op program:

• Requires three alternating semesters of work experience.
• Provides an opportunity to work directly with experienced engineers and contribute to real-world projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

Identifying the impact of problems: Analyzing the consequences of issues across different aspects of the business.
Recommending improvements: Suggesting solutions to existing processes or programs.
Implementing process improvements: Collaborating with analysts, users, and project sponsors to implement changes.

Qualifications:

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong preference for Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering majors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with programming and algorithms is preferred.
