Job Description: AI Research Engineer Intern
Join Lenovo for a unique six-month internship where you’ll collaborate with talented engineering professionals, engage in problem-solving, and gain essential business knowledge. The primary objective is to inspire AI in our products for the future. You’ll work on critical AI-related projects in a flexible environment, encountering various teams including product development, customer experiences, product managers, services, and strategy. This program offers opportunities beyond traditional internships, with open-ended and exploratory topics.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop solutions for real-world problems.
• Design and develop prototypes, proof-of-concept applications, or visualizations showcasing AI applications.
• Create predictive models and algorithms using machine learning techniques.
• Collect, clean, and analyze relevant datasets.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team of experienced engineers.
• Shadow and learn about AI related to Lenovo’s devices, use cases, and third-party applications.
• Stay updated on the latest advances in machine learning and AI technologies.
Essential Qualifications:
• Recent bachelor’s graduates or upcoming summer graduates.
• Current master’s students or upcoming summer graduates.
• PhD candidates.
• Currently attending a degree program in the United States.
• Experience in one or more technical areas: Natural Language Understanding, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Software Engineering, or similar fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Research experience, including internships, full-time roles, or lab work.
• Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++).
• Experience contributing to research communities or publishing papers in major conferences or journals.
• Passion for Artificial Intelligence.
• Strong interest in server infrastructure, networking, and IT solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
