Data Scientist – IP (on contract) | BASF

By leveraging advanced analytics, AI-ML, and Intellectual Property data, you will support strategic decision-making across the organization, transforming complex data into actionable intelligence and enhancing IP Intelligence through modern digital and AI-driven methodologies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and develop end-to-end AI and analytics solutions.
• Build scalable and modular AI applications.
• Develop and deploy LLM-powered solutions, AI agents, and workflow automation frameworks.
• Execute data preprocessing, harmonization, feature engineering, and machine learning model development.
• Collaborate with IP Intelligence experts to derive technology, innovation, and competitive insights from patent and scientific data.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, including Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI, LLM integration, and developing Web Applications and REST APIs using Python and JavaScript frameworks.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, Streamlit, SpaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face, Transformers, OpenAI, and robust problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Exposure to Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments, alongside a keen interest in applying AI within the Intellectual Property and Innovation Intelligence domain.
