They offer a perception-based risk assessment program designed to reduce accidents in hazardous occupations.

About The Role

CompScience is seeking an AI & Computer Vision Intern to join their growing team. The intern will contribute to projects involving Large Language Models (LLMs), AI, and Computer vision, aimed at improving workplace safety. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in a startup environment and applying academic knowledge to real-world challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, training, and testing of computer vision and machine learning models for identifying workplace hazards.
• Contribute to projects focused on the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) for risk analysis and safety insights.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to process and analyze large-scale visual and analytical datasets for model improvement.
• Support the integration of AI/ML models into core products.
• Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and code reviews.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Stay current with emerging trends and research in AI, computer vision, and LLMs.

Required Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Solid programming skills and foundational knowledge of Python.
• A strong understanding of fundamental machine learning, computer vision, or natural language processing concepts.
• Familiarity with fundamental software engineering principles, including data structures and algorithms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-have

• Previous project, research, or internship experience in computer vision, LLMs, or a related AI field.
• Hands-on experience with common machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts or core AWS services.
