Responsibilities:
As an Agronomy Sales Intern, your responsibilities will include:

  • Field Agronomic Support: Assisting Agronomy Sales Representatives with crucial tasks such as crop scouting, soil sampling, and on-site field agronomic problem-solving.
  • Research & Development: Designing, monitoring, and meticulously summarizing farm trials to generate valuable information for both our customers and the CHS agronomy team, working directly with CHS producers.
  • Pest Management: Utilizing integrated pest management techniques to accurately determine treatment thresholds for various crops.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Generating comprehensive written reports and presenting findings to your supervisor and/or customers.
  • Product & Service Expertise: Learning the features and benefits of all CHS agronomy products and services, assisting with over-the-counter sales, and facilitating product delivery to customers.
  • Operations & Logistics: Gaining hands-on experience in warehouse and agronomy plant operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Learning and effectively utilizing our proprietary computer program, Agris, for efficient invoicing and inventory management.
  • Inventory Management: Actively assisting in various inventory management procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Learning how to properly maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Safety & Compliance: Working within and maintaining an environment that is fully compliant with state, local, and CHS Environmental and Safety policies.
  • Custom Application: Performing custom application duties if qualified and if the need arises.
  • Team Collaboration: Assisting other departments as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Currently enrolled in an Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture-related degree program.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Compensation & Benefits:
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives, and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, and minimum wage/salary requirements under local law. If eligibility requirements are met, you may participate in our 401(k) program.
