Basic Function

As an integral part of the Governor’s five-year $35 billion housing plan to create or preserve 100,000 affordable homes statewide, this role involves researching and analyzing various forms of funding available to real estate developers, including financing from state and federal agencies.

Work Performed (Duties)

The primary focus of this role will be on the financing of affordable housing projects within New York State. ESD provides grants to qualified developers to assist with the construction of affordable housing units.

  • Analyze grants available to qualified developers to assist with the construction of affordable housing units.
  • Research other forms of funding available to developers, including financing programs from other state or federal agencies, such as NYS Housing and Community Renewal or Housing and Urban Development.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (all majors are welcome).
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word (PowerPoint proficiency is a plus).
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
