Job Description
Mach Industries is seeking a talented Aerodynamicist Intern to join their dynamic engineering team. This role involves supporting the aerodynamic design and optimization of various vehicle platforms, from air-breathing aircraft to missiles. The ideal candidate will leverage a deep understanding of aerodynamic principles to enhance vehicle performance and ensure Mach’s products meet rigorous standards of efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the aerodynamic design and optimization of various vehicle platforms.
• Perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations using industry-standard software.
• Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement aerodynamic design modifications to enhance performance.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration of aerodynamic design elements.
• Document and present findings to team members and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university in aerospace engineering or other related engineering disciplines.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Huntington Beach, CA.
• Applicant for this intern position must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (e.g., green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
Preferred Qualifications:
• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• 6+ months experience of application of technical skills outside of the classroom (examples: laboratory, research, extracurricular project teams, volunteering, personal projects or prior internship/work experience).
• Proficiency in tools such as: missile datcom, xfoil, open vsp, xflr5, star-ccm+, ansys fluent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic startup environment.
• Engineering problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-directed with a positive attitude and team spirit.
