Job Description: Actuarial Intern

This opportunity is for an Actuarial Intern within WTW’s Integrated and Global Solutions (IGS) business.

Role Overview:
As an Actuarial Intern, you will be assigned to various client teams, providing consulting advice and services to multinational companies. Your focus will be on retirement, health and welfare, and broader benefits and compensation issues for their global operations. You will serve as a valuable resource for associates and consultants managing engagements, performing intricate aspects of client work. The role offers immediate exposure to real client assignments, encouraging imagination, creativity, data analysis, conclusion drawing, and presentation of results. This experience is designed to build technical knowledge and industry expertise within a supportive team environment.

Learning and Development Opportunities:
Interns are eligible for a comprehensive actuarial exam study program, which includes paid study hours, study materials, and guidance to support progress towards an accredited actuarial designation. You will also participate in key learning and development opportunities alongside associates.

Skills Developed during the Internship:
The projects undertaken during the internship will foster the development of skills and knowledge in the following key areas:
Accounting for pension and benefit costs.
Actuarial valuations for pension and post-retirement benefit plans.
• Understanding market conditions in countries around the world.
• Involvement in benefits due diligence and other support for mergers and acquisitions.
Project management and coordination.
Data collection and analysis.
Communication of results to a non-technical client audience.
• Proficiency in WTW proprietary tools and software.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
• Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or any other major with significant quantitative coursework, maintaining a strong academic record (GPA of 3.0+).
• Ideally, successful completion of one or more actuarial exams.
• Well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to ask appropriate questions and seek help when needed.
• Ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner.
• Ability to work both independently and on client teams, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong sense of accountability, taking ownership and pride in one’s work.
• Self-starter mentality: an interest in continually challenging oneself and a willingness to step outside of one’s comfort zone.
• Accepting applications from candidates who will graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree between December 2026 through June 2027, or June 2028.
• Must be open to working full-time in the Fall of 2026 through December 2026.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this role is $27-$36/hr USD. This role is also eligible for overtime pay. The base salary range is provided in accordance with state/local pay transparency legislation, noting that actual salaries may vary based on factors such as location, individual competencies, education/certifications, experience, performance, and potential for revenue generation (for Producer roles only).
