Job Description: Actuarial Analyst – New York Property and Casualty Practice:
This role involves performing various levels of analysis related to client work within Milliman’s NYPC practice. Responsibilities include:
• Data Analysis: Reviewing, organizing, and checking data for errors and consistency in preparation for analysis. Utilizing complex spreadsheets and database tools to analyze data and solve problems.
• Reporting and Communication: Drafting reports and exhibits, preparing internal/external correspondence, and presenting findings to peers, project managers, and client relationship managers. This includes explaining complex technical concepts clearly to various audiences.
• Quality Assurance: Checking one’s own work and the work of peers for accuracy.
• Problem-Solving: Thinking critically to solve client business problems, utilizing both technical skills and creativity. Independently managing workload and anticipating client needs.
• Research: Undertaking research projects as needed.
• Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
• Completed bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Two or more passed actuarial exams (Casualty Actuarial Society).
• One to three years of professional actuarial experience (internship experience included).
• Proven proficiency in Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Self-sufficient and motivated to work independently, yet collaborative and willing to help others.

• Ability to start within 2-4 weeks of offer acceptance.
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred):
• Prior P&C reserving and/or pricing experience.
• Technical skills in programming languages like SAS, R, Python, and/or SQL (R preferred).
• Predictive modeling experience or interest.
