ACT Math Tutor | Varsity Tutors

This role is vital for empowering thousands of students across the nation to improve their ACT Math scores and enhance their overall test readiness, all from their home.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions to individual students on the Live Learning Platform.
• Educate: Teach advanced math concepts covering pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry.
• Strategize: Guide students through ACT Math problem-solving techniques, including rapid solution identification, backsolving, and calculator efficiency for various question types.
• Adapt: Customize instruction by using timed drills, creating formula sheets, and targeting practice on specific weak areas to meet individual student learning needs.
• Support: Utilize AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional assistance, lesson generation, and engagement features, reducing prep time for sessions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced understanding of ACT Math content, demonstrated by a minimum ACT Math score of 31 and proven methods for score improvement.
• Experience: Capability to explain all 60 ACT Math questions within a 60-minute timeframe and identify concepts students commonly struggle with.
• Skills:
1. Deep knowledge of math topics from pre-algebra through trigonometry, including proficiency in calculator strategies and quick formula recall.
2. Expertise in ACT Math test strategies, such as strategic skipping, multi-step problem guidance, and recognizing high-frequency question types.
3. Ability to explain material using multiple approaches and adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and student needs.
4. Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly and engaging teaching style.
