Job Description: Accounts Payable Intern (Fall 2025)
Overview:
Kimley-Horn is seeking an Accounts Payable Intern to join their Business and Accounting team in Raleigh, NC. This is an in-person position; remote work is not available. The internship is scheduled for the Fall of 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
The Accounts Payable Intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks crucial to the finance department, including:
• Processing vendor and sub-consultant invoices, releases, and check requests.
• Reviewing financial documents for accuracy, ensuring appropriate approvals, valid sales and use tax application, and correct general ledger coding.
• Reviewing and approving expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Following up with employees regarding issues such as unallowable expenses, missing receipts, or requests for clarification on expenses.
• Verifying payment information and assisting with vendor set-up.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this internship must meet the following criteria:
• Currently in the process of completing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
• Possess working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and strong people skills.
• Exhibit effective communication skills.
• Be an excellent team player.
• Possess strong attention to detail.
• Have the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
