Accounts Payable Clerk | D.R. Horton

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at D.R. Horton, Inc., America’s largest homebuilder, which was founded in 1978 and is publicly traded. The company specializes in the construction and sale of high-quality homes primarily for entry-level and first-time move-up markets, also providing mortgage financing and title services. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of basic Accounts Payable administrative functions, contributing to the efficient financial operations of the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Invoices: Enter invoices into the computer system and schedule them for payment.
• Reconcile Payments: Correspond with vendors to correct invoices and perform invoice reconciliation.
• Approve Expenses: Approve key expense statements and reimbursements for payment.
• Manage Accounts: Input permit account entries, and oversee maintenance and vendor insurance and set-up.
• Conduct Research: Research all bills to verify company property ownership at the time of the bill and investigate past-due invoices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a foundational understanding of Accounts Payable processes.
• Experience: Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
• Skills: Strong time management and prioritization, ability to accurately process and record a large volume of numerical data, proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Bonus: Knowledge of general accounting functions, experience with payroll software and data entry.
