Analyst 1: Accounts Payable and Travel | Pima Community College

The Tone:

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Processes vendor invoices, check requests, and contract payments, utilizing three-way matching with purchase orders and receiving reports for accuracy.
• Compliance Auditing: Conducts analytical compliance audits on all travel requests, employee expense reports, and travel card transactions to identify errors, enforce policy adherence, and maintain audit readiness.
• System Administration & Training: Troubleshoots user system errors within automated expense software (e.g., Concur), assists with software configuration updates, and provides training to college faculty and staff on system usage.
• Financial Reconciliation: Performs monthly reconciliations for Accounts Payable aging reports, outstanding travel advances, and various general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
• Regulatory Adherence & Reporting: Monitors state prompt-payment requirements to prevent interest charges, assists with year-end audit sampling, and supports annual 1099/1042 reporting processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field of study, or an equivalent combination of certification, education, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Experience: Up to one year of related experience in accounting or finance.
• Skills: Applies knowledge of regulatory compliance principles and practices; demonstrates knowledge of business management and fiscal practices; possesses skill in analyzing data and drawing conclusions; utilizes strong problem-solving skills; exhibits skill in effective written and oral communication and data entry.
• Bonus: One to three years of related experience in accounting or finance.
