Lead, D&S Consolidation & Accounting | CAE
The Tone:
This is a regular position at CAE, likely located in Canada (Quebec). CAE is a global leader in training and simulation, enhancing mission readiness in civil aviation, defense, and security. This role is essential to the Defense & Security (D&S) segment, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting. Your work will directly support the Accounting Manager and senior finance stakeholders, contributing to robust financial health and informed decision-making across a multinational environment.

• Mission: Lead D&S consolidation and accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for the segment.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Excel, Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning
What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Consolidation Process: Co-ordinate timelines and deliverables with subsidiaries and joint ventures globally, preparing and reviewing journal entries including inter-company eliminations and GAAP adjustments.
• Generate Financial Reports: Prepare monthly reporting packages and presentations for Management, including analyses of the income statement, balance sheet, and cashflow statement.
• Oversee Investment Committee: Lead the segment investments steering committee, preparing supporting materials and following up on action items to ensure strategic alignment.
• Contribute to Financial Forecasts: Participate in the preparation of the monthly balance sheet and cashflow forecast, and support the annual budget process for the D&S segment.
• Mentor Financial Analysts: Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to financial analysts, ensuring priorities, deliverables, and quality standards are consistently met.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA accounting designation or actively in progress.
• Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in audit, accounting, consolidation, or financial reporting, preferably within a public corporation or complex multinational environment.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements, excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, and strong analytical capabilities.
• Bonus: Expertise in Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning, ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
