Staff Accountant | Toyota Tsusho America

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Toyota Tsusho America. What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain Accounting Records: Systematically manage and process a broad range of accounting transactions, including all aspects of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales Invoices, and Journal Entries, ensuring precision and adherence to established protocols.
• Manage Standing Data: Oversee the meticulous maintenance of standing data, which involves requesting the setup of new vendors and customers, and performing diligent validation of vendor bank setup information to prevent errors and fraud.
• Reconcile Statements: Proactively reconcile vendor and customer statements on an ongoing basis, thoroughly researching any discrepancies or issues that arise and implementing effective resolutions to maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform Monthly Closing: Execute comprehensive monthly closing transactions for the assigned section, which includes reviewing and generating critical monthly financial reports to ensure full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and divisional/corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct Reconciliations and Adjustments: Perform detailed Account Reconciliations for various accounts, diligently maintaining supporting schedules for all balances, and proactively researching any variances or issues that require correcting entries to uphold financial accuracy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, providing a foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices required for this entry-level to early-career role.
• Experience: A minimum of 0 to 3 years of professional experience in an Accounting or Finance capacity is required, demonstrating initial exposure and practical application of financial concepts.
• Skills: Proven ability to manage core accounting transactions such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, competence in performing monthly financial closing procedures, and the capability to generate and review financial reports.
• Bonus: Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting guidelines is considered a beneficial qualification for applicants.
