The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Evlo AI, located remotely in Los Angeles, CA. Evlo AI is a scaling technology business, and this position is critical for managing its core accounting operations. The Accounting Manager ensures the company maintains accurate financial records, strengthens controls, and produces reliable financial information for leadership.

• Tech Stack: ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Financial Management), Excel, Google Sheets, FloQast, BlackLine

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Ownership: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including managing close calendars, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting, and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP.
• Workflow Management: Manage accounting workflows within ERP and connected systems, focusing on improving automation, data integrity, and audit trails.
• Technical Accounting: Evaluate and document technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, and complex contracts.
• Compliance & Audit: Maintain SOX controls over financial reporting, coordinate with external auditors, and support SEC reporting deliverables including 10-K, 10-Q, and footnote schedules.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required or strongly preferred. Progressive accounting experience, including managing or leading month-end close activities.
• Experience: 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday Financial Management, plus advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, SOX requirements, and SEC reporting processes. Demonstrated ability to manage reconciliations, technical accounting memos, audit requests, and financial reporting schedules with high accuracy. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with judgment to manage deadlines, resolve discrepancies, and escalate accounting risks.
• Bonus: Public-company accounting experience, Big Four background, IPO or SOX implementation experience, and familiarity with FloQast, BlackLine, or similar close-management tools.
