Supervisor I – Accounting | PODS
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at PODS. This position is central to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and the integrity of the general ledger. The supervisor plays a critical role in guiding a team of staff accountants, maintaining financial close schedules, and upholding compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. This role is vital for driving process improvements and serving as a key accounting resource across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Direct the day-to-day work of a team of staff accountants, effectively setting priorities, balancing workloads, and ensuring the close remains on schedule.
• Staff Development: Review your team’s work and provide clear, timely coaching and feedback, contributing to their development through informal guidance and formal performance oversight.
• Process Ownership: Serve as the primary accounting owner and point person for assigned end-to-end processes such as inventory or leasing, partnering with operations and other functions to capture activity correctly in the ledger.
• Month-End Close: Own and execute the more complex month-end close work in your areas, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules, producing review-ready results and overseeing your team’s close activities for accuracy.
• Controls & Audit: Execute and oversee internal control procedures within your assigned areas, identifying gaps and control weaknesses, driving practical improvements, and supporting internal and external audit requests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an associate’s degree combined with additional relevant experience. This is a supervisory-level accounting role focused on team leadership and complex financial operations.
• Experience: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility in financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Skills: Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; proven ability to lead a team effectively to meet deadlines; and the capacity to partner effectively across various functions.
• Bonus: Prior lead or supervisory exposure, and comfort with modern productivity and AI tools.
