About The Role
This role is responsible for directing and coordinating the Accounts Receivable and Credit and Collections functions, with a specific focus on parent billing and collections. The position also involves auditing physical inventory and the bids process. Key financial responsibilities include preparing payroll journal entries, managing cost allocations, conducting relevant general ledger account analyses, and supporting the monthly financial reporting process.
What You’ll Be Doing
Core Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable & Collections:
- Complete adjustments to monthly classroom attendance entries.
- Process credit card payments from parents.
- Mail invoices and all past due notices to parents.
- Accurately record all parent payments in the system.
- Provide annual tax letters to parents as required.
- Ensure the timely completion of agency-wide attendance data entry by specified department deadlines.
- Accounts Payable:
- Manage all activities within the accounts payable function.
- Review and approve vendor invoices for payment.
- Process reimbursements for Daycare Home Childcare providers.
- Auditing & Reporting:
- Prepare ad-hoc monthly reports for management review.
- Conduct audits of the agency’s physical inventory.
- Audit the agency’s bids process.
- Audit the California Department of Education purchase approval process.
- General Ledger & Payroll:
- Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries.
- Prepare fixed assets journal entries.
- Other Duties:
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor, Department Director, CFO, CEO, and/or their designee.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Experience: AA in Accounting and a minimum of two (2) years of related accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or Finance is desired.
- Accounting Knowledge: General knowledge of accounting practices, including processing invoices for payment, preparing journal entries, and performing account reconciliation and analysis. Familiarity with principles, practices, regulations, and procedures as they relate specifically to accounts receivable.
- Language: Bilingual Spanish required.
- Technical Skills: Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Software Familiarity: Familiarity with accounting software, specifically SAGE Intacct, is a plus.
Compensation
Salary: $87,723.60 USD
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a health screening and TB test.
- Must pass background fingerprint clearance.
- Possess a valid Driver License.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties.
