Job Description:

We are searching for a motivated and people-oriented individual to join our Chartwells Management Finance team as an Accounting Intern. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical, providing you with hands-on experience in the world of Finance and Accounting.

Key Focus Areas:

This internship will focus on three key areas:

Field Accounting: You will gain practical experience in tasks like cash reconciliation, conducting cash deposits and safe audits, assisting with AR & AP reconciliations and processing, maintaining maintenance requests from field operations, conducting paperwork audits, and contributing to weekly and monthly close processes.
Operations: Potential opportunities for project assistance related to strategy and planning.
Finance: You will support budget review and analysis, and gain insight into flash review and analysis.
Payroll: You will learn about the team’s paperwork and activities through filing and document retention, and gain experience in processing payroll work orders and investigating discrepancies.

Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a degree in accounting or finance.
• General interest and knowledge in accounting and finance.
• Intermediate level proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a drive for excellence and high performance.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and process improvements while working with people and technology.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
