The Tone:
This is an internship at Evans Group, located in East Providence, RI. Evans Group is an electronic components company that manufactures high-energy-density capacitors for demanding, mission-critical applications in the military, aerospace, industrial, and commercial markets. This role is crucial for providing hands-on support to the accounting team across multiple manufacturing sites, offering a dynamic environment to develop foundational skills in accounting and finance. The intern will contribute to daily operations and learn real-world accounting processes within a reliable problem-solving organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Accounting: Assist in preparing journal entry templates, account reconciliations, and gathering documentation for audits and internal reviews.
• Close Processes: Support month-end and year-end close processes by completing administrative and preparatory tasks.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices by scanning, matching purchase orders, and flagging discrepancies, while maintaining organized vendor records.
• Accounts Receivable: Apply customer payments and update AR logs, also preparing AR aging reports and identifying overdue accounts for senior staff follow-up.
• Administrative Support: Greet visitors, answer and route incoming calls, and manage the scanning, filing, and organization of accounting and administrative documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; Must be a U.S. Person eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience: Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including data entry and formulas.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, effective communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
