Job Description: Accounting Intern

Delaware North Sportservice is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the daily operations of its accounting team at Climate Pledge Arena. This paid internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a global hospitality company. The internship typically runs for 10-14 weeks between May 1st and the end of September and is eligible for academic credit.

Responsibilities:

• Learn base accounting processes, including general ledger reconciliations and month-end close procedures.
• Assist in processing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and refunds.
• Conduct analysis and research to resolve accounting problems.
• Support senior and lead accountants in day-to-day accounting activities.
• Complete the Daily Sales Report (DSR).
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.

Learning Objectives:

• Gain an understanding of accounting and finance technologies.
• Develop familiarity with various POS (Point of Sale) reporting systems.
• Enhance Excel skills.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a current accounting student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift.

Compensation: $23.00 – $26.00/hour.
