About AT&T’s Accounting Leadership Development Program Internship

The Accounting Leadership Development Program is a 10-to-12 week summer internship designed to give aspiring accountants practical experience and exposure to various accounting disciplines. This program is focused on developing future leaders in accounting and finance.

Key Features of the Program:

Practical Experience: Interns will gain hands-on experience in preparing journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts, analyzing monthly financial reporting, and communicating results to managers and senior leaders.
Impactful Work: Interns will contribute to AT&T’s accounting and finance organizations, working on projects related to monthly reporting, merger & acquisition activity, and new accounting standards implementation.
Mentorship and Development: The program provides mentorship opportunities with senior financial decision makers and executives, fostering professional growth and networking connections.
Collaborative Environment: Interns will work in teams and collaborate with colleagues from various departments, including Tax, Treasury, and Finance.
Exposure to Industry Leaders: Interns will gain valuable insights into the strategies and operations of a leading telecommunications company.

Job Description: Accounting Intern

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts.
• Analyze monthly financial reporting and communicate results to managers and senior leaders.
• Manage the legal entity monthly reporting process.
• Collaborate with various groups, including Tax, Treasury, and Finance.
• Implement more effective and efficient monthly processes.
• Analyze complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Provide accounting support for complex Merger & Acquisition activity and implementation of new applicable ASC regulatory changes.
• Utilize accounting software like Oracle for ledger activity and HFM for consolidated reporting.

Qualifications:

• Earned a Traditional or Accelerated Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance by June 2026
• CPA candidate (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Teams, and Outlook
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Willingness to relocate to Dallas, TX
