Accounting Intern

Position Overview

  • This is a 3-month paid, fully remote internship.
  • Candidate must be located in Texas, Indiana, Missouri, or New Mexico.
  • Equipment will be provided.
  • There is an excellent opportunity for full-time hire after the conclusion of the internship, with top candidates being considered for a permanent position.

Reports To

  • Accounting Manager

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Education: BA/BS degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Must be proficient in MS Word/Excel and an Accounting database computer system.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Effective in interfacing with all levels of management.
  • Communication Skills: Good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Ethic:
    • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, meet deadlines, and follow through on work assignments in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to work additional hours and on special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities / General Functions

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements.
  • Develop audit schedules and update financial information on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile various bank accounts (operations, sweep, payroll, investment) and other related asset general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries for the general ledger and various subsidiary ledgers by compiling, researching, and analyzing necessary data.
  • Maintain account balances and reconcile differences between various account balances and external sources of comparison.
  • May assist in developing required reports, including financial analysis, fixed asset, depreciation, and other related reports as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
