Job Description

Position: Accounting Intern

Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in Texas, Indiana, Missouri, or New Mexico)

Internship Overview:
This is a 3-month, paid, fully remote internship. All necessary equipment will be provided. There is a strong opportunity for full-time hire upon successful completion of the internship.

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: BA/BS degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferred.
Technical Proficiency:
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with an Accounting database computer system.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with all levels of management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proactive and reliable in following through on work assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work additional hours and on special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounting Department’s operations by:
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
• Developing and maintaining audit schedules, and updating financial information on a monthly basis.
• Performing reconciliations of various bank accounts (operations, sweep, payroll, investment) and other related asset general ledger accounts.
• Preparing accurate journal entries for the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers through diligent data compilation, research, and analysis.
• Maintaining accurate account balances and reconciling discrepancies between internal records and external sources of comparison.
• Potentially assisting in the development of specialized reports, including financial analysis, fixed asset, and depreciation reports.
• Undertaking other accounting and administrative duties as assigned to support department objectives.
