Job Description: Accounting Intern
Overview
As an Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and expand your accounting knowledge. The role involves learning how to prepare and reconcile financial statements and general ledgers. You will work on diverse projects that provide exposure to multiple departments including trading, operations, and technology, as well as various systems (both third-party platforms and internally developed tools). A key aspect of the role is ensuring proper documentation is obtained and accurate reporting is performed. Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to learn about current accounting rules and their impact on different aspects of the business. The recruiting process for this position will begin by September.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
The company is seeking:
• Students pursuing a degree in Accounting who intend to graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree within one year of the internship program.
• Candidates with advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Preferred experience with programming languages such as Python, HTML, VBA, or SQL.
• Prior co-op/internship/project experience in accounting is a plus.
• Students who can collaborate effectively with a team while also having the confidence to work independently.
• Individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to innovation.
• Those with an ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Students who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
