This is an Accounting/Finance Internship position designed for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Job Title: Accounting/Finance Intern
Hiring Department: UM-Flint Financial Services & Contracts Office
Academic Period: 2025-2026 academic year (Fall 2025 through Winter 2026 academic terms). The internship may also commence in August 2025, prior to the start of the Fall term.
Eligibility: Open exclusively to UM-Flint School of Management Accounting & Finance students who are in their Junior or Senior year during the internship period.
Academic Credit: This internship fulfills UM-Flint’s academic internship requirement, granting 3 credit hours towards graduation.
Work Schedule: Interns are required to work 20-24 hours per week during standard office hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Work Mode: This is a fully onsite position, meaning the work must be performed at a designated University of Michigan-owned or leased work location.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Controls and GAP Analysis: Assisting the Campus Controller in preparing and reviewing departmental financial internal control documents and identifying discrepancies to ensure adherence to University Policies.
Departmental Support: Running various reports and providing financial analysis to different university departments.
Journal Entries: Contributing to the processing of monthly journal entries.
Accounting Reconciliation: Reconciling monthly financial reports with their original source documents.
Procurement Processing: Handling the processing of all UM-Flint utility bills and ensuring timely payments.
Office Support: Providing general office assistance as needed, including answering phones, copying, and filing.
Required Qualifications:
• Enrollment as a UM-Flint School of Management Accounting or Finance student in their Junior or Senior year for the Fall 2025 – Winter 2026 academic terms.
• Ability to commit 20-24 hours per week during the specified office hours and academic terms.
