Accounting/ Finance Intern – 2027 Summer Intern | Wilton Re

The Tone:
This is an internship at Wilton Re, located in Norwalk, CT. This role is crucial for supporting the Accounting/Finance team’s operational efficiency and compliance. Interns will gain significant professional exposure and contribute to meaningful projects within the company.

• Mission: Assist the Accounting/Finance team with critical financial reporting, controls, and analysis tasks to ensure accurate and compliant operations.
• Tech Stack: Excel, DataMart, Filing system

What You’ll Actually Do
• Apply: Apply spreadsheet controls frameworks across various financial processes.
• Prepare: Prepare specific quarterly financial reporting workpapers and journal entries for quarter-end close.
• Conduct: Conduct balance sheet tie-outs, controls analysis, and letter of credit analysis.
• Develop: Develop macros to automate reporting processes, leveraging technical experience.
• Generate: Generate reports from DataMart and input results into the filing system for Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Rising junior or senior attending a 4-year university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Intermediate Excel experience and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, adaptable and positive attitude, continuous growth mindset, and collaborative approach.
