Accounting & Finance Intern | Essity

This is a full-time in the summer, part-time remote during the school year internship at Essity, located in Appleton, WI. • Team: Essity Global Business Services – Financial Services team, supporting North America, reporting to the GBS Finance Manager.
• Mission: To support the GBS Financial Services in all areas including general accounting and reporting to ensure financial accuracy and integrity for North America operations.
• Tech Stack: Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation Support: Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements by performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor and Create Journal Entries: Maintain precise financial records by monitoring and creating journal entries to accurately record financial transactions.
• Account Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of accounts to identify discrepancies, ensure accuracy, and support financial reporting.
• Monthly Intercompany Invoicing: Efficiently manage and process monthly intercompany invoices to facilitate internal billing and reconciliation.
• Perform Monthly Close Procedures: Execute monthly close procedures and generate accurate financial reports as delegated by the GBS Finance Manager.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Business major, with a preference for Accounting or Finance majors.
• Experience: This is an Entry-Level internship role, requiring foundational knowledge from relevant academic studies.
• Skills: Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel; ability to work independently; and the capacity to take initiative and make informed decisions.
