2027 Accounting & Finance Development Program | AbbVie

The Tone:
This is a full-time development program at AbbVie. The first rotation is typically located in Lake County, IL, with the possibility of initial placement or subsequent rotations in any U.S. AbbVie location, and global placements are also possible. This Accounting & Finance Development Program is designed to provide comprehensive rotational experiences that prepare individuals for accounting and financial management roles, aiming to develop exceptional functional and leadership traits crucial for future leadership opportunities within the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Engagement: Complete multiple separate professional work assignments within finance areas such as Commercial, Operations, Research & Development, and Corporate functions, developing exceptional functional and leadership traits.
• Strategic Exposure: Work on a wide range of projects across different functional areas, providing exposure to various leaders in the company and building comprehensive business acumen.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Operate effectively in a matrix environment, fostering strong cross-functional relationships, enhancing business acumen, and participating in key training sessions.
• Financial Analysis & Planning: Execute responsibilities in financial analysis, and contribute to the preparation of budgets, plans, and forecasting activities for key brands or operational areas.
• Reporting & Controls Management: Manage reporting functions, maintain robust internal controls, and engage in manufacturing operations accounting activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, completing a bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 – August 2027.
• Experience: Successful completion of at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by graduation, including one focused on cost or managerial accounting. Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting. Willingness to relocate outside of Lake County IL for 1 to 2 six-month rotation(s).
• Skills: Proven capability to effectively communicate within work and/or academic environments, adapting messaging to suit diverse audiences. Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in both academic and professional settings. Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. Must submit an unofficial or official transcript at time of application.
• Bonus: Dual major or minor in a related field. Experience utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way. Exposure or proficiency in handling data analysis and performing robust analytics and predictive modeling. Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course. Capability to blend technical and business knowledge with analytical expertise and innovative problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects, work collaboratively in teams, be adaptable, proactive, and maintain high ethical standards. Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
